The police in Ogun have arrested two armed robbery suspects from their hide-out in the state.
The suspects were said to be members of a robbery gang terrorising motorists on the Long Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The suspects were arrested at night while carrying out a robbery operating on the bridge.
The Point gathered that some victims of the robbery operation sent a distress call to the police at the Warewa Division, from where Superintendent Akinola Eludini, who was then at the other end of the bridge raced to the scene.
On sighting the policemen, the suspects took to their heels but two of them, namely, Ibrahim Yusuf andĀ Uche Onwuemea, were arrested while the others escaped.
The suspects, who have since been placed under interrogation, have equally named their accomplices.
Meanwhile, in view of the ongoing construction work along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the deployment of more police operatives along that axis, especially the Long Bridge, in order to ensure adequate security for people plying that route.
Iliyasu consequently appealed to members of the public to always give necessary and timely information to the police whenever they noticed any strange movement.
