Men attached to Apapa Police Station in Lagos State have dragged two suspected mobile phones thieves to court within the metropolis.
The two accused persons, Ibrahim Rasheed, 20 and Olayiwole Ibrahim, 28, were brought to the Apapa Magistrate Court by Sgt. Iyeh Alhassan attached to the Apapa Police Station.
The prosecutor, Inspector Asu Feddy, while reading the two counts preferred against them, said the accused persons committed the offence at number 13B, Commercial Road, Apapa.
The first count stated that the duo conspired to steal contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The second count read that the accused persons “did steal 20 assorted phones valued N150,000 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira), property of one Abdulraman Saje and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges against them.
The presiding Magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties, he said, must be gainfully employed with verifiable addresses.
