A 34-year-old man, Nonso Ezenagu, has appeared before an Ojo, Lagos, Magistrate’s Court for defiling an 11 -year- old girl.
The police in Lagos arraigned Ezenagu in court for defiling the minor by touching her private part with his finger.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ejemli Augustine, told the court that Ezenagu, who resides at No. 6, Dipo Dina Street, Abule Oshun, Ojo in Lagos, also attempted to commit felony.
In the first count, the police prosecutor said Ezenagu, “did attempt to commit felony to wit defilement and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 262 of criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The second charge also read: “That you, Nonso Ezenagu, ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully and indecently assault one Chiamaka Favour John ‘f’, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 135 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. M. Ajayi, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties that have evidence of two years tax clearance.
