Police dock two men for stealing N1m alcoholic drinks

The police in Osun State have arraigned two men before a Magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing assorted alcoholic drinks worth over N1million from a shop.
The accused persons-Sunny Oladele, 30, and 25-year-old Esambo Kehinde, were accused of conspiring and burgling a wine store in Osogbo.
According to the Police prosecutor, Duro Adekunle, the duo committed the offence on May 24, 2017 at about 12:58pm at Shollykem Wine Store, Obate area of Osogbo.
“That you (accused persons), at the same place and time did  steal assorted drinks such as carton of Seaman Schnapps, Chelsea, Regal hot drinks valued N1, 048, 765: 00, property of ShollyKem Wine Store,” the second count charge slammed against the accused persons partly read.
Adekunle argued that Oladele and Kehinde committed an offence contrary to Sections 516 and 383(1) and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
But the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the two count-charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They were not represented by any lawyer in court.
Notwithstanding, Magistrate A. Olowolagba granted the duo bail in the sum of N2million with two sureties in the same amount. 
Olowolagba ruled that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means and be close relatives of the accused persons.
