The Delta State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly abusing two underage girls sexually and putting them in the family way.

The two male suspects, Ashley Nwosisi, aged about 55 years and 27-year-old Chigozie Otti, were said to be cooling off at Okpanam Divisional Police Headquarters, Delta State over alleged sexual abuse of the two siblings.

It was gathered that the two men, separately, had multiple sexual encounters with the teenagers and impregnated them.

The siblings, aged 16 and 15 are from Okpanam community, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

The Point learned that the father of the girls is late while their mother has not been stable with them.

A human rights activist who is based in Asaba, Harrison Gwamnishu, explained that his organisation received a complaint that two siblings got pregnant for two different men in Okpanam after series of alleged sexual assault.

Gwamnishu revealed that the 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually molested by Nwosisi who claimed to be her late father’s friend after the girl approached him for assistance on food items.

According to him, the other sibling, aged 16, was allegedly defiled and put in the family way by Otti, who claimed to be her boyfriend.

“We got to know that the 15 year old girl is about eight months pregnant, while the other one is about six months.

“The 15 year old girl was lured into a home by a man who was a friend to their late father and the man took advantage of her, had carnal knowledge of her on several occasions because the girl came to the house to beg for food items. She was invited by the man. It was a multiple sexual encounter that resulted in her pregnancy.

“The other one, a 16 year-old-girl going to 17 said she was impregnated by her boyfriend who is a 27-year- old boy.”

However, in a video where Nwosisi was examined by the activist and his team, he admitted sexually abusing the girl but claimed not responsible for her pregnancy due to the erectile dysfunction he was allegedly suffering from.

Nwosisi was heard saying when he was being interrogated, “I have an erectile problem.

That is very true and I confirmed it. Everybody in my family knows this. You can go inside and confirm the drugs that I take.”

“He (Nwosisi) took us inside his room after denying that he abused the girl. But, after the girl insisted that he had a series of sexual intercourse with her, he admitted. He then wrote a letter that reads partly: “I agree that I had sexual relationship with the girl but I am not sure I am responsible for the pregnancy.”

“He (Nwosisi) said he wants to take care of the pregnancy. I only had sex with her only two times. Let the law take its cause if I fail to take care of the girl and her pregnancy,” Gwamnishu explained.

After handing the two suspects to Police, the activist said, “There are plans by some community big men to free Ashley Nwosisi but I have full confidence that the DPO who is no supporter of evil will ever agree to their bidding.”
