Two friends, who allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist identified as Thomas Amusan, on Ile-Oluji/Ipetu Ijesa Expressway in Ile-Oluji, Oke Igbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, have finally been arrested by homicide detectives.
According to the spokesperson of the state police command, Mr. Femi Joseph, the suspects were arrested following a painstaking investigation.
According to Joseph, “The suspects’ names are Rilwan Rasheed and Sheu Akande”.
The incident occurred on August 8, 2016.
The police spokesman added that the suspects had hired the commercial motorcyclist to take them to one of the villages in the area but hacked him to death on the way and made away with his bike.
” They asked the now deceased person to take them to a nearby village; on getting to a junction, they asked the man to stop and as they were trying to snatch the motorcycle from him, he resisted and the struggle that ensued led to his death as he sustained grievous bodily harms.
“After they succeeded in killing him, they dumped his lifeless body in the nearby bush and took the motorcycle away,” Joseph said.
He added that when the men of the command got the information about the incident, they swung into action and through an intelligence –based operation, they eventually apprehended the suspects.
