The police in Ogun have arrested three members of a suspected car-snatching syndicate at the Temidire area of Sango Ota.

The three suspects were arrested last Saturday by operatives attached to the Sango Divisional Headquarters.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that while on routine patrol of the area, police men sighted a Toyota Highlander Jeep with registration number KRD 168 EL with two occupants.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, said when the vehicle was stopped and the occupants were interrogated, they were unable to give satisfactory account of themselves.
“On further interrogation, it was discovered that the duo conspired to steal the vehicle, hence they were arrested and brought to the station for proper investigation. The suspects are Kazeem Adeyemi and Jide Omotunde. Also arrested is one Okoye Michael, who was seen with a KIA CERATO car which investigation revealed was stolen from where it was parked. The car with Reg No. AAA 446 AX was stolen through the help of the security guard of the owner’s company, who gave the car key to the suspect and opened the gate for him to escape,” he said.
The PPRO added that state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered full investigation of the two cases with a view of charging the suspects to court.
“He equally appealed to members of the public to always screen those they want to employ as their domestic staff so as not to employ criminals,” he said.
