Police in Ogun have arrested a 43-year-old man, Ini Udo, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of three female minors.
Two of Udo’s victims are said to be 9 years old, while the third is 12.
It was gathered that the suspect, who lives in the same compound with the victims’ parents at No 2 Agboola Close, off Ijoko Road, Sango, used to lure the girls into his room whenever their parents and his own wife were not around, pretending to be sending them on errands.
The suspected allegedly had sex with the three minors at different times.
Trouble, however, started, when the mother of one of the girls noticed what look like a sperm in her pant while washing it and questioned her thorroughly.
This discovery led to the revelation that the suspect had been having sex with the girl and the two others for some time.
The fathers to the three girls, namely: Lateef Sikiru, Lawrence Effiom and Ikechukwu Udozor, made a joint report at the Sango Police Station and the Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Akinsola Ogunwale, detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect.
The three minors have been taken to the General Hospital for medical attention and report.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect. Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police, said that IIiyasu also warned parents to always take the security and well-being of their children very seriously, especially the female ones, in order not to make them “an easy prey in the hands of all these shameless old predators.”
