Police arrest man, 35, for defiling wife’s 13-yr-old sister

The police in Ogun have arrested one Kingsley Chigbo, 35, for allegedly defiling his wife’s 13-year-old younger sister.
The incident was reported to the police at the Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by one Peju  Osoba, who is the coordinator of an Abeokuta-based Child Protection Network.
She reported that one of her staff members in Ota, who went for an enlightenment talk with students of Bannis College, Ijoko, Ota, gave her the information.
After the enlightenment talk, the teenager was said to have called the said staff member to a corner and confessed to her that her elder sister’s husband had been having sex with her under duress and threatening to kill her if she ever told anybody.
Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Ota Superintendent Akinsola Ogunwale, led detectives to the house of the suspect at No 38 Asikolaye Street, Gasline,  ijoko, Ota, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
When confronted by the little girl, the suspect admitted that he committed the crime.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
