The Osun state Police Command on Thursday dragged three suspected killers of a 400 level student of the state university before a Magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo, the state capital.
The suspects, Sakariyau Abdulrofiu,19; Yusuf Kareem, 18, and Ayuba Ibrahim, 20, were arraigned on a three-count charge bearing on murder and conspiracy.
Police prosecutor, Mr. Abass Aruna, told the court that Abdulrofiu, said to be a Muslim cleric, and two others, unlawfully murdered the male microbiology student on June 26 at the Oke Baale area of Osogbo.
The charge sheet obtained by our correspondent in court read in part, ” That you (three accused persons) on June 26 at Oke Baale area in Osogbo, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder and unlawfully kill one Timilehin Oluwafemi Shonibare by hitting him with a pestle on his head.
“That you (all accused persons) at the same time, place and aforementioned Magisterial district, did improperly and indecently interfere with a dead human body by cutting off the head, hands and other parts of the deceased. ”
Aruna then argued that the accused persons committed  offences contrary and punishable under Sections 324, 319 (1)and 242 (1) (b)  of the Criminal Code cap 34 Volume 11, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
But the three accused persons did not have any counsel to represent them in court. The court also did not take their plea owing to the magnitude of the alleged offence.
The Magistrate, Mrs. A. O Oloyaade, remanded them in Ilesha prison custody and adjourned the case to September 25,  2017,  for mention.
