A 38-year-old man, Ismaila Lawal, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ile-Ife Magistrate’s Court for allegedly setting his rival’s motorcycle ablaze.
The accused person reportedly committed the offence around 2:25am on June 6, at Adejokun Compound, Ilare, Ile-Ife.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused person broke into the house of Lawal Abdullahi, his rival, with intent to commit felony.
Osanyintuyi further stated that the accused person set Abdullahi’s Boxer motorcycle on fire contrary to Sections 411 and 444 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defence counsel, Mr Okon Wonder, applied for bail for his client in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Adedotun Ayeni, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said the sureties, who resides within the jurisdiction of the court, must swear to an affidavit of means and must be gainfully employed.
The case was adjourned till July 20, for hearing.
