Police arraign 2 for stealing N100,000 worth of handsets, N18, 000 cash

Policemen attached to Ijora- Badia Police Station in the Lagos State Police Command have arraigned two men for allegedly stealing seven mobile phones valued N100, 000 and N18, 000 cash from a dealer.
The two accused persons were brought to the Apapa Magistrate Court by Sgt Ayodele Sunday.
While reading the charge number Y/9/2019, the prosecutor, Sgt. Friday Inedu, said the two accused persons, Lucky Ladi, 19 and Aliu Balogun and others at large, conspired to commit the crime at White Sand area, Ijora – Badia, Lagos recently.
Inedu said the accused persons committed felony contrary to and punishable under Section 412 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The second count read that the two accused persons and others at large “did steal seven assorted phones value at N100, 000 with cash of N18, 000, properties of Stephen Anyanwu and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the two counts.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Babalola, representing Magistrate M.O. Olubi, granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N50, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.
