Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Osun State, Mr. Kehinde Ayanwale, has said the party is optimistic about getting justice at the  Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal, insisting that the  party  won the  September 22, 2018 governorship election  but was robbed by the ruling All Progressives
Congress.

Ayanwale told our correspondent that all indices at the tribunal were in PDP’s favour.

He vowed that the party would stop at nothing to legally retrieve its stolen mandate.

He said both international and local observers were equivocal in condemning the supplementary election, which was conducted five days after the main election, saying well-meaning Nigerians should join the PDP in ensuring that democracy is protected in the
country.

Ayanwale said, “It is clear that the APC robbed the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, of his victory at the poll. But we have confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of common man and democracy in the country. No matter how fast the lies move, truth will overcome it one day. The comments of local and international observers are testimony to the
robbery.

“Osun indigenes and residents are surely tired of APC and that was why they voted massively for PDP during the last gubernatorial election. But we have assured the people to be peaceful, we are going to get their mandate back for them in a lawful manner. We have warned them to stay off protest or brigandage, we will laugh at the end of the day.

“We are surprised that President Muhammadu Buhari with all the claims of integrity, would allow such impunity and injustice. But from what is happening now, we know impunity is the sing song in their party. God is on our side, Osun people are with us and so we are going to laugh last.”

He called on the electorate to be watchful as the 2019 general elections approach, saying, “What APC did in Ekiti and Osun, where they trampled on people’s rights, may be a warning about what they intend to do in the forthcoming general elections.”

Ayanwale said  the people should vote and protect their votes in subsequent elections as  “ we cannot allow impunity to continue”.
