Many parents and guardians are currently at the premises of Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, protesting increment in chargeable fees at Model colleges in the state.
They carried different banners bearing inscriptions that called on the state government to reverse the fees.
Chanting songs to drive home their messages, the protesters also displayed their children’s school uniforms and vowed not to leave the Secretariat until a top government official announces decrement of the fees.
According to them, the state government wanted to make their wards become school drop-outs, calling on the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to rescind the hike.
One of the protesting parents who has three children in one of the model colleges informed The Point that the school fees were increased from N35,000 to N100,000 per session.
