The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council, has mourned the demise of one of its member, Najeem Raheem, a photojournalist with The Guardian Newspaper.
Raheem reportedly died in Ibadan, the state capital on Monday morning after a brief illness.

The deceased, who lost his parents recently in a single day, was planning for their burial ceremonies when his death occurred.
The statement by the Council described late Raheem as a humble, diligent and friendly colleague, who distinguished himself professionally in his chosen career.
It prayed God to grant his family fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists in the state commiserated with the NUJ and the family of the deceased.
In a statement by its Chairman, Jadesola Ajibola, NAWOJ described Raheem’s passage as a rude shock.
The statement reads, “It is a painful one. Raheem was an easy going man with a heart of gold. We will forever remember you. May the Almighty God keep his family.’’
