Osun police nab herbalists with human skull, hands

The police in Osun have arrested three men for allegedly being in possession of a human head and two fists exhumed from a grave in the state.
Parading the suspects, including Ademola Titilola, 25, and Babatunde Awolola, 40,on Tuesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olafimihan Adeoye, disclosed that the suspects were arrested on August 29 at about 1:02pm by a patrol team.
According to the state police boss, it was alarming that most Nigerians now engage in ungodly and illegal means to get rich, saying the rise in crimes had been giving the police a great concern.
He said, “A Police team attached to Iwo Divisional Headquarters, while on a stop-and-search along Ogbomosho/Oyo Road at Agoror area, intercepted one Honda motorcycle with registration number FST715QF ridden by one Ademola Titilola of Akaje Tara area Ogbomosho and one Babatunde Awolola.
” A search conducted on their persons led to the recovery of two severed human hands with gloves. The duo were promptly arrested and later transferred to SCIID, Osogbo,. upon completion of preliminary investigation. “
The police commissioner further stated that on the same day, at about 11:30am, police detectives attached to Ipetumodu Divisional Headquarters, Ipetumodu, while acting upon intelligence, executed a search warrant in the house of one Adeyeye Adeniyi of Oba’s compound, Moro, and recovered a human skull.
Speaking with Adeniyi and Awolola, who claimed to be herbalists, the suspects said the skull and fists were meant for money rituals for their clients.
Awolola claimed he bought the fists in Iwo at the rate of N10,000, while the human head would sell for N15,000.
The suspect revealed that the fists were exhumed at a cemetery in Iwo town.
It was gathered that the suspects had attended the burial of the deceased before visiting the grave in the night to exhumed the fists.
