The Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Sunday Bisi has called on chieftains and members of the party to intensify campaigns ahead of the February 22, 2025 local government elections in the state.
Already, the leadership of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission has promised to conduct fair, peaceful and credible polls.
In lieu of this, OSIEC has been sensitising members of the public on the need to exercise their franchise by voting for candidates of their choice in the forthcoming local government elections in Osun State for Chairmanship and Councilorship positions.
Meanwhile, addresing party faithful at the annual inter-religious prayers held in Osogbo on Monday, Bisi appealed for love and unity in the party, especially when the state is preparing for the council polls and governorship election in 2026.
He urged PDP members to ensure that their actions are guided by the principles of justice, equality, and fairness, tasking party leaders and members to brace up for the “intense activities ahead.”
“This year promises to be a busy one, with local government elections on the horizon. We must campaign across every nook and cranny of our state, engaging with our people and sharing our vision, especially at the grassroots for a better Osun,” Bisi noted.
Emphasising the need for all party members to fortify PDP structures in Osun, Bisi said, “Let us mobilise our grassroots support, strengthen our party structures, and ensure that our message of light over darkness resonates with every voter. We owe it to ourselves, our party, and the good people of Osun State to give it our all and ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections. Together, we can achieve greatness and build a brighter future for our beloved state.”
