The Osun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has suspended a chieftain of the party, Peter Babalola.

The party leadership at Babalola’s ward level said the suspension is indefinite.

Babalola’s suspension was contained in a letter jointly signed by 17 executive members of PDP Ward 7, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State where the politician hails from.

According to the letter, the suspension is based on various anti-party activities of Babalola in the last two years.

The chieftain was in PDP before he left the part for the All Progressives Congress in May 2010 after alleging impunity.

After his bid to clinch Osun APC governorship ticket in 2018 failed, Babalola rejoined PDP.

He had alleged APC of imposing the party’s flag bearer on the people for the September 22, 2018 governorship election, which he said negated the principle of equity and justice laid by the founding fathers of the state.

However, after about six years in the ruling PDP, his membership has been severed following his suspension.
