The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja, on Wednesday urged the newly recruited personnel to combat growing criminal activities bedeviling the country.

Ocheja gave this charge while addressing the newly recruited personnel who commenced their training on Monday.

According to a statement made available by the Public Relations Officer of the command, ASCII Atanda Olabisi, the NSCDC boss charged the new personnel to efficiently perform all tasks given to them during the training as this would help them to be highly skilled in the service of their father land.

He commended the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi for the timely recruitment of fresh hands into the system to defend the nation adding that “the recruitment and the training being imparted here would help curb incessant criminal activities in the country, as our dear nation is facing security challenges occasioned by the activities of Boko Haram terrorist, armed bandits, kidnappers, vandals, and other criminal activities.”

He, therefore, informed the newly recruited personnel that their mental, physical and moral alertness are highly needed as the prevailing insecurity can be surmounted by the collective resolve and efforts of everyone.

Addressing the new personnel, Ocheja said, “during this training, put your certificates aside, obey all legitimate orders issued by your instructors, this is a regimented environment, it is a place different from where you are coming from. You are expected to be highly disciplined and obedient ”
