The League of Veteran Journalists in Osun State has elected new executive members to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.
The six-man executive council was elected at the League’s monthly meeting held on Wednesday in Osogbo, capital of the state.
Smolette Shittu-Alamu emerged as Chairman while Olatunji Idowu became the Secretary.
Other elected officers are Dunmade Durojaiye (Treasurer), Sanya Fadipe (Spokesman), Osu Babarinde (Financial Secretary) and Samuel Adeyekun (Welfare Officer).
Delivering his acceptance speech immediately he and his team were sworn-in, the new Chairman, Shittu-Alamu, promised to lead a transparent executive that will showcase inclusiveness, direction and accountability.
Shittu-Alamu, who was untill his election, the spokesman of the League, assured that his leadership will also not deviate from the agenda-setting role which is a core responsibility of journalism profession.
