One person has been feared killed with several others injured in an attack by gunmen at the All Progressives Congress rally in Anambra State, on Monday.
Also, a car belonging to Dr. Nelson Omenugha, leader of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s group, was allegedly set ablaze during a rally by the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state.
The APC rally held at Uruagu, Nnewi, while that of APGA reportedly took place at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that one APC member, whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, was killed at the APC rally with scores wounded.
However, the police in Anambra have yet to react to the incidents.
The state Publicity Secretary of APC in the state, Okelo Madukaife, confirmed the incident during the party’s rally, saying, “The attack led to the death of our party official and the hospitalisation of many others.
“Our party regrets the invasion of our office and the attack on our members who were gathered for a meeting in Uruagu Ward 3, Nnewi by persons yet to be identified. We regret the loss.”
