The 1978 set of the Methodist College, Uzuakoli, Old Boys Association has embarked on the building of a multi-million naira administrative block in the college to replace the old one.
Principal of the college, Very Rev. Best Okike, disclosed this while speaking to our correspondent at the end the association’s 18th biennial conference held at the premises of the college.
Okike said many old boys and the association itself had embarked on numerous projects and rendered various services aimed at improving the standard of the college.
According to Okike, who is a member of the association, the college which was founded by Methodist Missionaries in 1923, was still facing other challenges to its general growth.
“The college still has many needs; the most pressing now is having a JAMB Centre to serve this zone. Next to that is the need for wooden beds for the boarding students at the castle,” he said.
In his address on the occasion, the National President of the association, Navy Captain Chris Osondu (rtd), commended the members who had used their offices to attract projects to the college.
