Nigeria’s fast rising female star performer, Offorma Ifeoma Rita, has joined Earth Angels FC of Monrovia on a one-year deal.
Speaking exclusively to The Point, the 1.70m towering striker said she is at home with the new club and promised to contribute her quota to the success story of the club that took the Liberian female league by storm last season.
“I’m happy here and the club has a rich history which I must also endeavour to contribute my own quota to their success story.
“Earth Angels were winners of Liberia’s FA Cup last season and they have a very good Nigerian coach, Jasper Ben-Felix, tinkering the team.
We are like a family here and the management, players and the coaching crew helped me to settle down quickly ahead of the league commencing very soon.
“I’m here to raise my game and help my club to win the league and retain the FA Cup,” she said with great optimism.
The former FC Robo dare-devil attacker also affirmed that she hopes to play for Nigeria someday and prays her journey to Liberia will be a huge success.
“It is my prayer to get invitation to play for my country someday because I have all it takes to wear the green and white jersey of Nigeria. This is my second journey playing outside my country.
“Frankly, between 2019 and 2020, I played for Renaissance Women de Guider FC of Cameroon. It was a wonderful experience I garnered while playing for them and it helped shape up my game.
“The league here in Liberia is growing and I’m delighted with the quality of players in camp for Earth Angels and we can surely make a good impact this season,” she said.
Reacting to her joining the club, the coach, Ben-Felix, confirmed his joy at bringing the Nigerian to the team.
“We are delighted that Offorma joined us because we saw that she is young, very talented and top-notch technically.
“Working with her as our player will surely impact positively on the club. We hope her coming will help us actualise the big dream we have for the Earth Angels,” he concluded.
Offorma was unveiled to the teaming supporters of the club on October 14, 2021.
