Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has led a delegation of the lawmakers to the former governor of the state, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu is now in the United Kingdom, where he is recuperating.
Obasa said the national leader of the All Progressives Congress is hale and hearty, saying the lawmakers had lengthy discussions with the former Lagos State Governor.
Among the members who visited Tinubu were Temitope Adewale, chairman of the House committee on Transportation; Nureni Akinsanya, chairman of the House committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development, as well as Sylvester Ogunkelu, chairman of the House committee on Overseas Investments and SDG.
According to Obasa, Tinubu was his jovial self and had discussions with the team on issues of national importance.
He added that the visit was necessary, considering the position of Tinubu as a leader in the country, a mentor and benefactor to many Nigerians.
“Asiwaju remains amazingly passionate about Nigeria. He is hale and hearty. We had a lengthy discussion about developments in the country, he was in high spirit, cheery, witty as usual and remains optimistic about the progress of the country,” the Speaker said.
Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, had also visited Tinubu on Wednesday.
Asides Fayemi and Akeredolu, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had first visited the APC national leader in July.
President Muhammadu Buhari also made a surprise visit to Tinubu in London.
Also, a former National Legal Adviser of the APC, Muiz Banire, visited the former governor of Lagos to express solidarity with him and to wish him quick recovery.
