The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund has collaborated with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to strengthen its internal anti-corruption processes and build public trust.

During a visit with ICPC Chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu, NSITF Managing Director Oluwaseun Faleye emphasised the significance of this relationship.

“NSITF has long taken pride in maintaining the highest ethical standards. Our entire focus is on cultivating an environment of openness and honesty,” he said.

Faleye emphasised that the collaboration intends to strengthen NSITF’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) and launch an all-encompassing, company-wide anti-corruption campaign.

He noted, “This meeting wasn’t just a routine protocol; it was a decisive step toward a collaborative future with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), an agency that stands as a bulwark against corrupt practices.”

Aliyu acknowledged the sensitivity and significance of NSITF’s role in managing public funds.

He remarked, “For any MDA that is dealing with funds, there are a lot of risks and challenges, especially in dealing with employees and the funds contributed by workers. That is why your job is very sensitive.

“As an agency, the ICPC has a preventive mandate, which in my view is more important because we shouldn’t allow issues to happen that will lead to investigation,” he added, underscoring the need for cooperation in the fight against corruption.

This strategic partnership has the potential to revolutionise NSITF’s anti-corruption efforts by safeguarding subscribers’ money and fostering an honest and accountable workplace.
