Nasarawa United Football Club’s Abdulrahman Bashir has promised FC Ifeanyiubah tough times, when they meet on Sunday in a Nigerian Professional Football League duel.
Bashir said his team has suffered so much, adding that this is the time to break the jinx of ill-luck that has been working against their progress in the league.
The Lafia side fell to the goals of Niger Tornadoes’ Musa Wakili from the penalty spot and Ebenezer Odeyemi in the 27th and 60th minutes, but the forward revealed that with little luck, the result would have gone differently at the Confluence Stadium.
“We have been putting in our best in all our matches, but hard luck has been our major worry. Even though, I was not in Lokoja, I was told my teammates put in their very best and they deserved something from the match, but they missed some chances,” Bashir said.
“We won’t relent, because the team is still the same and the aspiration is just like that of two seasons ago, when we got a CAF Confederation Cup ticket from the league and last year when we got to the final of the Federation Cup, before our narrow loss to FC Ifeanyiubah on penalties.”
