The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced a major leadership transition as it welcomes Bayo Ojulari as the new Group Chief Executive Officer following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

In addition to Ojulari, a new Board of Directors has been established to guide the national oil company’s operations.

The outgoing GCEO, Mele Kyari, and the former Board Members were thanked by NNPC in a statement issued on Wednesday for their devoted service and significant achievements to the business and the Nigerian energy industry.

“Mr. Kyari’s leadership and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on NNPC Ltd., and we are sincerely grateful for his outstanding contributions,” said Olufemi Soneye, the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

“We wish him and all departing Board Members continued success and fulfillment in their future endeavors.”

Kyari, who led NNPC Ltd. during a significant transformation, was instrumental in reshaping the organization, increasing transparency, and spearheading critical energy changes.

During his time at the helm, NNPC evolved into a profit-oriented organization, conforming to worldwide standards.

His leadership period also witnessed remarkable progress in oil and gas exploration, production, and revenue creation for the nation.

As Ojulari takes the reins, those in the industry will be eager to observe how he enhances the groundwork established by the person before him.

A knowledgeable professional in the energy field, Ojulari comes with a wealth of experience in the oil and gas industry, having occupied multiple leadership positions that have influenced his strategic outlook for Nigeria’s petroleum sector.

NNPC Ltd. has promised its stakeholders that the changeover will be smooth, highlighting its dedication to preserving stability and advancement in Nigeria’s energy environment.
