Nigerian Correctional Service gets 25 new ACGs, 37 Controllers

THE Nigerian Correctional Service has announced the promotion of 62 senior officers who participated in the 2019 promotion exercise conducted by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.

The Deputy Controller-General of Corrections in charge of Human Resources, John Mrabure, said the release of the promotion followed the approval of the Board at a meeting on July 16, 2020.

In a statement he signed on behalf of the CG, he said the board’s approval was conveyed in a letter signed by its Secretary, Alhassan Yakmut.

According to him, those promoted include 25 Controllers of Corrections, who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller-General of Corrections; while 37 officials were promoted from Deputy Controller of Corrections to Controller of Corrections.

“Out of the 25 newly promoted Assistant-Controllers General, 22 are General Duty officers, one Medical Doctor, one Veterinary Doctor and one Nurse, while of the 37 newly promoted Controllers of Corrections, 27 are General Duty officers, three Medical Doctors, one Public Health Official, three Pharmacists, one Caterer and three Nurses,” the statement said.
