NGX All-Share Index gains 5bps, market capitalisation rises to N56.61trn

The local bourse closed 5bps higher on Tuesday at 100,067.77 points as investors’ interests in blue-chip GTCO (+1.88%), ZENITHBANK (+2.59%) and UBA (+2.25%) pushed the broader index into positive terrain.

The gains of the day offset selloff in FBNH (-4.35%), DANGSUGAR (-2.33%) and TRANSCORP (-2.71%).

Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 33.83 percent, while the market capitalization gained ₦25.72bn to close at ₦56.61trn.

Analysis of Tuesday’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions increasing by 10.86 percent.

A total of 365.64m units of shares valued at ₦4.12bn were exchanged in 8,665 deals.

UNIVINSURE (+7.89%) led the volume chart with 61.53m units while UCAP (+0.18%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦711.31m.

Market breadth closed negative at a 0.92-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering advancing ones.

RTBRISCOE (-9.86%) led twenty-three (23) others on the laggard’s table, while CORNERST (+10.00%) topped twenty-one (21) others on the gainer’s log.
