The Chairman, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Musa Mohammed, has decried the alleged neglect of Lagos ports access road, describing the development as an evil wind that would blow no one any good.

Mohammed said that the deplorable roads have become source of employment to his members and even causing economic hardship for the entire citizenry.

The RTEAN chairman, who was represented by the Public Relations Officer of the association, Comrade Abayomi Afini, stated this at a monthly forum organised by the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria in Lagos.

He said due to the deplorable condition of the roads around the Apapa and Tincan Island Ports axis, his association had lost 400 trucks within a year as some of the vehicles had to be sold off as scrap, adding that the members of RTEAN plying the roads were already leaving the business in droves as it was becoming increasingly unprofitable for them to continue
