THE Registrar of the National Examinations Council, Professor Godswill Obioma, has been assassinated.
He was reportedly assassinated by unknown gunmen, who invaded his residence on Monday night.
The gunmen were said to have left after killing the Registrar without taking anything.
Elizabeth Obioma, his wife told the media that the slain registrar had just returned to Minna from Abuja when the armed men entered the compound and strangled him.
Sources said Obioma had been facing challenges on his job as there were moves to remove him from office.
He was appointed head of NECO barely a year ago on May 14, 2020. He hailed from Abia State.
His assassination comes barely 72 hours after a former presidential aide and former judge were murdered in the East.
