Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is making headlines again as La Liga giants FC Barcelona are reportedly keeping their interest in signing him for free next summer.
The 26-year old’s contract will expire next summer and he is expected to leave Leicester City where he is regarded now as a legend six years after his arrival and 252 appearances later.
Ndidi was tipped to leave the Foxes last summer but the deal to Nottingham Forest fell through.
However, it is almost evident that the Super Eagles midfielder will not stay in Leicester beyond June 2024 as FC Barcelona are keeping tabs on Ndidi and are preparing a deal to sign him for free next summer according to reports.
Xavi Hernandez and his staff are not happy with Oriol Romeu’s performances and would like to offload him in the coming winter transfer window.
The Spaniard’s exit will free space for a newcomer who could be Ndidi should both parties find an agreement.
The Nigerian star is currently out with a muscle injury and is expected to return to training after the break.
