The Nigerian Bar Association has announced a change of venue for its 2025 annual general conference.

Initially planned for Port Harcourt, the conference will now be held in Enugu, a city with the necessary infrastructure to host an event of this magnitude.

The NBA cited the unconstitutional appointment of a Sole Administrator in Rivers State as a key reason for relocating the conference.

The NBA argued that holding the conference in Port Harcourt would be seen as endorsing constitutional violations and subversion of the rule of law.

The association noted that it has taken a firm stance against unconstitutional actions, aligning with the positions of its National Executive Council and broader membership.

Enugu, the historic Coal City, will now host the 2025 conference scheduled to hold between August 22 and 28, 2025.

The conference will maintain its commitment to delivering a successful and impactful experience, with themes centered around the legal profession’s growth and development.

The NBA said it is confident that this change will not compromise the conference’s quality and invites all members and stakeholders to support this new path.
