Timini Egbuson has decided to follow the path of his talented elder sister, Dakore Akande, who just released a new movie, ‘Isoken.’ Though he has featured in movies like ‘Shuga,’ ‘Fifthy,’ ‘Something Wicked,’ ‘Isoken’ and ‘Ajuaya,’ it is yet to be seen if he is as talented as his sister.
Egbuson, in an encounter with our correspondent, said people need to take time and see his works before drawing conclusions about his talent as an actor. According to him, when someone invests millions on a movie, he or she will not want to cast anybody because he is somebody’s brother or sister.
Timini said, “At the end of the day, performance speaks for itself. I’ve been lucky enough to be in two projects with my sister, ‘Fifthy and ‘Isoken.’ But it is purely based on my talent and grace of God. The internet is a funny place where we hear different things every day. We just choose whatever we respond to and not to respond to.
“In my family, we are all very artistically inclined in different ways. My sister is in music and acting while I am talented in acting. I studied Psychology at the University of Lagos, worked for few years and decided to face acting because that’s where my true passion is. I was a sales and marketing executive at a time, but acting makes me happy and I believe happiness is key.”
In a new horror movie, ‘Ajuwaya,’ featuring Kemi Lala Akindoju and Rahama Sadau, Egbuson plays Collins, a fresh graduate who schooled abroad but was posted to a remote village mistakenly, instead of Lagos. He was really annoyed at the beginning and then things became better when he started to make friends.
