A house wife, Bose Oladepo, has dragged her estranged husband, Oladapo Oladepo, before a customary court sitting in Agbeloba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, for allegedly shaving off her pubic hair for ritual purpose.

The mother-of-two, who accused her husband of being in possession of dangerous charms, alleged that he shaved off her public hair on three different occasions while she was fast asleep.

The woman told the court that she was unconscious on the three occasions but later woke up to discover that her pubic hair was missing.

She said that her husband also neglected his responsibility as a father and as a husband by failing to fend for her and the children.

The housewife, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve their 11-year-old marriage on grounds of lack of love, lack of care for her and the children, threats to her life, frequent fighting, maltreatment and provocation as well as using dangerous objects to harm her.

She told the court, “My husband shaved the hair on my private part three times while I was asleep and immediately I woke up, I would find out that my pubic hair was missing. My husband does not take care of me and my children and he wants to inherit my
house.

“I want the court to dissolve our marriage on the grounds of lack of love, lack of care for me and my children, threat to my life and the use of sharp object on me, frequent fighting, maltreatment and provocation.”

She further asked the court to restrain her husband from coming to her house and her place of work to harass her or cause
trouble.

However, the man said the claim that he attempted to inherit her house and that he shaved his wife’s pubic hair for money rituals were untrue.

He said that his wife should go ahead to divorce him if she wanted rather than lying against
him.

The President of the court, Chief J.A.O Sofolahan, however, urged the wife’s family members to resolve the conflict between the estranged lovers.

The case was adjourned for further hearing.
