She’s not saying the truth, I caught her with another man – Husband

A housewife, Toyin Adeeko has dragged her husband, Wale Adeeko, before an Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State Customary Court for allegedly stabbing her on her left breast with a broken bottle.
Toyin, who said that she was still nursing the injury she sustained on her breast due to her husband’s action, prayed the court to dissolve her four-year-old marriage to her estranged husband.
Displaying before the court some pictures of her injured breast, the woman said that her husband was in the habit of beating her thoroughly at the slightest provocation.
Toyin, who expressed worry that the breast injury was not getting healed up, lamented that she could no longer wear her brassiere without first inserting a piece of cloth to cover the injury because of the wound on her breast.
She accused her husband, with whom she has yet to have any child, of always coming to her parents’ house to foment trouble, whenever she ran to them for safety, whenever he beats her.
Her husband, Wali, in his defence, describe his wife’s claims against him as mere lies, adding that he caught his wife with a man and it was when she was trying to run away from him that she mistakenly hit her breast on a pillar.
He blamed his wife for her excessive insincerity, saying that his wife was always coming to the bar where he was always drinking to foment trouble by accusing him of having extramarital affairs with unknown women.
The estranged husband said that whenever Toyin came to look for him at the bar, she always sniffed the empty seats around the table usually occupied by him and his friends to ascertain whether a woman sat on the chair before her arrival.
He added that his wife was hot-tempered to the extent of querying him and his friends about empty bottles of Malt drinks on their table at the bar, saying that they were taken by her husband’s concubines.
He told the court, “I did not stab her breast with broken bottle. I caught her with her another man. When she knew that I had caught her red-handed, she ran away out of fear and it was while she was running away that she mistakenly hit her left breast on a big pillar.
“And again, my wife often come to the beer parlour to look for me and whenever she comes around, she always sniffs the chairs and would then say that my concubines were sitting on them and that I hid them when I saw her coming.
“If Toyin sees bottles of Malt on the table, whenever my friends and I are drinking at the bar, she will say that those bottles of malt were drunk by my
concubines.”
While delivering his judgment, the President of the Court, Chief Akande .O.O, granted the prayers of the wife and dissolved their union.
