Singer, Adewale Lawanson, popularly known as Minjin, has been unveiled as the new act of Swaga Records.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony on Saturday, June 18, in Ikeja, Lagos, the chief executive officer of Swaga Records, Frank Steven Jerome, aka Big Mic, said that he had been following Minjin’s career and potential many years ago.
“I discovered that he has the potentials and understands the art so well. He is good at what he does and after listening to several songs from his stable and other recordings, I found him worthy to invest on even though the industry is currently competitive.”
Declining questions on the terms and benefits of the contract, Minjin described Big Mic as an old friend and supporter.
He said, “I feel that there is no better way than to work with someone who understands music and its business. My record label (Colonial Music) is still on, but it is on hold for now because I want to put more power into my music. At the moment, I am with Swaga Records. People should expect the best sounds, more videos and endorsement deals.”
Minjin, who was at a time singed to Kennis Music, just released a single, titled, ‘Jare.’ He has also concluded works on the video.
