Mountain of Fire and Miracles coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has re-affirmed his wards’ commitment towards winning the NPFL trophy at the end of the season.
The ambitious players are not relenting in their resolve to win the elusive
NPFL title for the club’s founder and number one supporter, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya.
According to the coach, his boys remained committed to going all out to win the trophy for their proprietor, who has been inspirational in the club’s impressive outing so far.
He described Olukoya as a wonderful spiritual father and sports-loving man of God, saying that they will continue to dedicate all their victories to him in the series.
“Our proprietor has always been our number one supporter and we appreciate his efforts over the club. He is sports loving and always encourages the youth. We will also try our best to win the league in his honour,” he said.
MFM is billed to host Katsina United at the Agege stadium on Sunday. Any slip from Plateau United will automatically give MFM an edge in a dramatic fashion.
MFM, which occupies the second spot on the NPFL log, is working tirelessly to end the league on a high.
“The league is unpredictable. No one knows what will happen next but we are sure of upstaging the current leaders. We will win the league by the grace of God,” he added.
Meanwhile, the coach of Plateau United Football Club, Kenedy Boboye, believes the race for the NPFL title is still open.
“We are aware we must continue to give our best if we are to end the season as league champions,” Boboye said.
He added, “I still believe we have lots of matches to be played before the end of the season and it won’t be fair on other teams if we say we are going to win the league when we still have some points to negotiate with other clubs. We shall take our games one after the other. I believe the only way we can win the league is to continue to do well both home and away.
“We are still very hopeful of picking more away wins and draws before the end of the season. We won’t also take our opponents for granted in our home matches knowing that they can surprise us if we fail to respect them. We are on the right course to winning the league and we must continue with the routine until the end of the season. We cannot say that the league title race is over when we still have teams in the top five pushing for more points in both home and away matches.”
Plateau will be playing away in Makurdi against Lobi Stars, as Kano Pillars host Remo Stars in another NPFL duel.
