THE number of defectors from the All Progressives Congress in Etsako is mounting and poses a serious concern about the party’s ability to defend its stronghold.

A former member of the Edo State House of Assembly and APC chieftain, Abdullahi Imogabe, along with the APC chairman of Ward 12, are the latest members to dump APC for the Peoples Democratic Party.

Uzairue clan consists of four wards. Oshiomhole and Shaibu are from ward 10 and 11 respectively.

The defection of Hon Imogabe and that of the APC ward 12 chairman took place in Iyuku and Ayogwiri, respectively, during the Edo PDP ward-to-ward tour of Uzairue.

Imogabe hails from Ayua village in Uzairue and was a former lawmaker in the state assembly.

On the other hand, the defected ward 12 APC chairman, Ozama, hails from Ikabigbo village.

Observers have queried the ability of the APC to survive the PDP onslaught in the face of the massive defections that has hit the party.
