Masked robber robs to get money for Fela Shrine

An armed robber who specialises in masking his face during operations has been arrested by police operatives attached to Oworonshoki Police Division,Lagos even as he  claimed that he robbed to get money he would spend at Fela Shrine.

The suspect, Ahmed Salisu, 21,  and others at large were said to have been dispossessing innocent residents of their cash and handsets when a patriotic Nigerian alerted the Divisional Police Officer of the station, CSP Ifeanyi Owo, who led a team of policemen to the scene. While others managed to escape, Salisu was arrested.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal, “He was caught red handed by a team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Office (DPO) of Oworonshoki Police Station, CSP Ifeanyi Owo. Although, his gang members fled the scene on sighting the police team but you can rest assured that we will get them sooner than later. Recovered from  are matches with which he  planned to set Odo-eran Market on fire, cutlasses and cudgels. Suspects will be charged to court,” Edagal said.

The suspect, Salisu, told this correspondent that they needed money so that when he  and his gang arrive the Fela Shrine they could be able to buy Indian hemp and spirit the way they wanted. 

He said, ‘”My ‘Oga’ I don’t like to rob but I only joined them so that we all would enjoy together at Fela Shrine.We need money to buy Indian hemp and hot drink. Who like to drink beer can drink beer. My friends escaped but police arrested me.”
