The Katsina State Government has presented to the House of Assembly a budget of N 140.1billion for the 2017 fiscal year. The 2017 budget estimate exceeds that of the 2016 estimate, which is N111.4 billion by about N 29.1 billion.
Out of the amount, the state is to spend N 47,730,331,360 or 34 percent on recurrent expenditure, while N 92,431,751,330 billion or 66 percent is on capital expenditure.
Presenting the budget at the Assembly in Katsina, Governor Aminu Bello Masari said that the budget tagged, “Budget of stabilization” would continue to give emphasis on education, agriculture and resource development.
