Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel explained the reason why Sadio Mane is far from the Mane who played at Liverpool few years ago.
When leaving Anfield for Allianz Arena, many expectations were on Mane’s shoulders.
However, he quickly became a random player after a good start to new life in his new club.
The six-month injury and the altercation with Leroy Sane changed everything for the Senegal international.
While he is linked with a move away, Tuchel reveals Mane failed in competition for the left-wing position with Kingsley Coman and Gnabry that is why he is a flop for the moment.
“Basically, Sadio had an unsatisfactory season and fell short of expectations,” Bayern Munich boss said in a press conference.
“The competitive situation is extremely high for him with Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, we have a constellation which makes it very difficult for Sadio.
“The player knows that too, he knows my opinion and the opinion of the club. Let’s see. Crazy things have happened in football.
“Ultimately, the starting position is not easy. Time will make us a little smarter.”
