A suspected member of the Ayé Confraternity, known as Mosquito, was killed during a suspected cult clash in Ijagun Road in the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The deceased, according to the Ogun State Police Command, was hacked to death during a violent altercation around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday.

She said, “The police division at Igbeba received a call from residents at 11:40 p.m., reporting that suspected cultists were involved in a fight.
“After receiving the report, the divisional police officer mobilised the patrol team. When they arrived at the scene, they found the body of an unidentified man. Upon closer inspection, they discovered he had multiple cuts and gunshot wounds.

Mosquito’s death is part of a series of violent attacks by suspected cult members in the state.
On Friday night, some suspected cultists allegedly killed a 48-year-old Point of Sale operator, Fatai Kehinde, under the Kuto Bridge in the state capital.
The deceased, known as Faithy and the son of the Baale of Kuto Community, was allegedly killed by assailants who chased him from his shop in Kuto Market to the area under the bridge.
The state police command said that it had initiated a crackdown on cult activities and related crimes in the state.
