Man, 28, arraigned for stealing N250,000

The police in Lagos have arrested a 28-year-old man, Chidiebere Ezeigwe, for allegedly stealing the sum of N250, 000.00 belonging to another man in the metropolis.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, the accused person, Ezeigwe committed the offence at Berger Suya, Olodi – Apapa, in Lagos.

Ekpo told the Ajegunle Magistrates’ Court that the accused person “did steal the sum N250, 000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira), property of one Christopher Oguejiafor ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”

The accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge preferred against him.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. N.A. Layeni, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties. The magistrate also adjourned the case till November 20, 2018.
