Man, 23, docked for stealing N246,500

Men of the Nigerian Police attached to Kirikiri Police Station in the Lagos State Command have arraigned a 23-year-old man, Nnamdi Godwin, alleged of stealing in the Apapa Magisterial District.

The accused person, accused of stealing the sum of N246,500, was brought to court by Inspector Oluketu Ayodele, attached to the Kirikiri Police Station.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Bassey, while reading the one-count charge, said Godwin committed the crime at the Comfort Oboh Estate, Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos State.

The charge stated that Godwin “did steal the sum of N246,500 property of Daniel Agomuo (male) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence. 

The Magistrate, Mrs O.S. Abioye, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties that are gainfully employed.

According to her, the sureties with verifiable addresses, must produce evidences of tax payment. 

The Magistrate adjourned the case till February 14,
2019.
