Former Nigeria Football Federation boss, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, his Secretary General, Taiwo Ogunjobi and Dr Amos Adamu have given a pass mark to the hierarchy of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, towards the peaceful conduct of its elections in Lagos.
The trio who were part of observers at the Supporters Club elections,praised the transparency of the electoral committee coupled with orderly conducts of various delegates from 19 States of the Federation including Abuja during the polls at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere.
Earlier in his welcome address, the President General of the Club and Chairman of the BoT, Dr Rafiu Ladipo, described the body as a Model for others despite growing from nothing to something in its 61 years of its existence. He disclosed that NFSC has chapters and offices across the world, ‘”a feat made possible through the sacrifices and dues from our committed members”, he added.
Dr Ladipo however urged the members to be more steadfast while extending a welcome hand to members who have strayed out of line provided they are remorseful, having lost in the Federal High Court in Lagos.
The elections saw the former Secretar General, Rev. Samuel Ikpea emerging the new chairman after pulling 168 votes to beat rival, Alarape Muritala. Others offices decided were first, second and third vice chairmanship, Assistant Secretary General, Welfare and Socials.
In his own reaction while confirming the results, Dr Bolaji Ojo-Oba described the elections as the best in recent time.
Responding after the swearing in, Rev. Samuel Ikpea promised to run an open and all inclusive administration. Other dignitaries at the elections were Messrs Kunle Solaja, Yomi Opakunle, Alhaji T.A. Yussuf and Oyo State Boxing boss.
