… Journalists still not allowed near meeting room

The presidential panel investigating the activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, under the suspended Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, continued its sitting on Wednesday behind closed doors.

The fate of Magu, who had reportedly been detained in a police cell for two nights, is expected to be determined at the end of the sitting of the Justice Ayo Salami-led panel.

Journalists were still not allowed near the meeting venue, in the Old Banquet Hall of the Aso Villa.

Magu had been detained at the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Headquarters, from the first night after his ‘arrest’ and interrogation.
