The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed event centers and other establishments in different parts of the state due to noise pollution.
This was made known in a post shared on the official handle of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment.
The post read, “The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency #LasepaOfficial conducted an enforcement operation, which resulted in the closure and sealing off of specific establishments in areas including Lagos Island, Ojodu, Ogba, Magodo, and Ikosi, all due to concerns regarding noise pollution.
“Let’s Stand United Against Noise Pollution! To combat noise pollution, LASEPA advocates strict adherence to the recommended sound levels in establishments, including religious centres, nightclubs, bars, and events centers.”
In another development, the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has embarked on the demolition of illegal structures along the perimeter fence of Lagos State Model College, Meiran.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for the Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, via his X handle on Monday.
“Demolition of all illegal structures, along the perimeter fence of Lagos State Model College, Meiran, Agbado, Oke-Odo LCDA, and environs today by the Monitoring Enforcement and Compliance Department of Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources,” the post read.
