THE Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has expressed deep shock over the demise of Xavier Ndanyongmong, the Crime Editor of Daily Independent Newspapers.

The CP described the late Xavier as a fine gentleman, a seasoned journalist and a distinguished crime reporter, who covered the activities of the Command professionally.

A statement by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said, “The CP, on behalf of Officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, extends his heartfelt condolences to the executives and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, management and staff of Daily Independent Newspapers, and family and friends of Xavier.

“He prays that the Good Lord will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Saint Xavier, as he was fondly called, passed on after a brief illness.
