The All Progessives Congress in Lagos State has frowned on the recent demand by female lawmakers in the Houses of Assembly across the country for the position of the vice president in 2019.
The Lagos APC argued that ceding such a position to women would negatively affect the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, which already has a capable Vice President in the person of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Spokesman of the APC in the state, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, argued that acceding to such a request by the female lawmakers would amount to changing a winning team, which he could result in a disaster for the country.
Igbokwe added that the vice president is a strong member of President Buhari’s winning team, which should not be substituted at this crucial moment.
